³ Opposite the ^[a](A)twenty cubits which belonged to the inner court, and opposite the ^(B)pavement which belonged to the outer court, was ^[b](C)gallery corresponding to ^[c]gallery in three stories. ⁴ Before the ^(D)chambers was an inner walk ten cubits wide, a way of ^[d]one hundred cubits; and their openings were on the north. ⁵ Now the upper chambers were ^[e]smaller because the ^[f](E)galleries took more space away from them than from the lower and middle ones in the building.
